I'm building a new 32 x 40 shop and need to make a decision on what to put on the interior walls. I'm thinking against sheetrock because of my worries about potential dents and dirt/grease getting on the walls. I have thought about white metal like whats on pole barns. There is also a plastic coated T-111 type plywood I could use as an option. OSB is another option but I would have the added cost of painting it.
I'm looking for any options that you guys may have used. Pros and Cons?

Thanks

Around here OSB is cheaper than dry wall. Enough to pay for a couple of coats of paint. And painting the walls white will really improve your lighting.

If you use dry wall you will want to tape and paint it at some point.

I like white metal on the ceiling. Light. Easy to hang. And cost effective.

On shop walls I like OSB painted white.

Another option is OSB wainscoat with dry wall above.

Be advised, your building inspector may nix the use of OSB as an interior garage finish due to a perceived fire hazard.
