Hey folks! This forum is pretty amazing! I'm happy to have found it and will spend countless hours searching for info I'm sure.
I live in rural Pennsylvania about 2 hours East of Pittsburgh. I'm 34, married, no kids. The wife has gone back to school for accounting. I have 6 yrs of AD Air Force experience working on F-16s. Then 2 years of automotive training. I focused on the fun stuff like chassis fab and street rod. I like old school cars as well as some imports and a lot in between. After that I landed a railroad job close to home. I figured I would just build a garage and use that recent training on hobbies or side work.
Well its been a few years and still no garage because I've slacked on taking the necessary steps to get it done. Well its time to buckle down and get this ball rolling. It will be a big project. I'm hoping for 60X40 with walls high enough for a lift and a second story or at least a second floor built into the trusses. I also want to put in a Geothermal system to heat and cool the house and garage. Hydronic radiant heat incorporated for at least the base floor of the garage seems like a logical idea. Thats as far as I get before my head starts to hurt.
So I know that is a lot to read but thank you all. I will be searching and asking a ton of questions. The most important one right now is this... If there was one thing you would add or a 'must have' when building your garage what would it be?
Thanks folks, I look forward to my time spent on this forum!
