Created a login some time back to look at some pictures that were hosted. But lately I have been clicking around a little more. Planning on a bit of a fall/winter cleanup of my garage. Really it will just be a fresh coat of paint and some new cabinets to help jam a few more pounds of stuff into the corners.

I am into watercooled VW's and have one major VW project going right now. But lots of other smaller house projects that need some time and or money to finish. Hopefully this winter I can finish my VW project and bang out a moped/rat bike project.

Not much else to say for now.

Welcome to the Garage Journal, 20V'er. I have helped a friend with some air-cooled VWs. What's your major VW project?

Thanks guy. I am currently aircooled less. I sold my 74 super beetle last summer. My dad and I bought it when I was 15 and restored it the best we could. Two paint jobs and 20 years later it was time to sell it. I know I will be back into an aircooled at some point in my future. Just not sure what version it will be, my next one might just ryhme with Porsche. But I know my dad has always wanted a notchback and that might make a fun father/son project.

As for my current vw project. I am swapping a 92 VW Corrado drivetrain into a 91 GTI shell. Pretty common swap, but I am attempting to do it within the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge rules (aka I have $2010 to build it). I was hoping to have it done for this summer but that did not happen so I pushed it aside for the summer and will get back to it this winter when the lakes are frozen vs boatable.

Of course once the lake freeze I usually take to them in this form:
