So I'm passing on the other roll chest I asked for opinions about the other day. Im now considering this one for sale locally.

I have a few questions if anyone can help.

Is the roll cab missing a drawer or were some manufactured without a bottom drawer in that era. If its missing, are they available through snap on or anywhere else?

I've done some searching but had no luck. Is there a way to get the chrome drawer pulls for the roll cab?

I mainly want the top box for restoration, and feel thats a decent price. (Someone chime in if they think different). He has already dropped the price twice. If I can't restore the roll cab to my likings to math the top chest I either plan to refurbish it best as possible and remove the casters and incorporate into a workbench or would try to resell it for a reasonable price just to recoup a little money.

I would love to have a top box like that!!! I would possibly buy it seeing as how all the drawers work and he has the keys (at least so the ad says). If I could get it below $250. I would definitely go for it.

Yes the bottom is missing it's bottom most drawer. You can see the remnant of the slide on the right hand side, where a drawer use to / should be. Are they available? I don't know if that one is. However I do know that snap on would not be the best source....... It would probably cost more than what you would pay for the box itself, or so I have heard.

I don't THINK the bottom ever had chrome pulls on it. Probably not economical to add them now.

It also looks like the top has a few extra holes in it, and it is missing the badge. I think a thorough in person inspection is in order.

It looks like an older, 1970s KR557 roll cab, and a newer, 80s KR537 top. The extra holes are where the new style Snap On logo badge was attached. The older versions of that combo didn't have the trim on the drawers.

I used to have a top box like that and loved it.

It looks like there is an extra hole dead center at the top also.

Top box alone is worth what he's asking in my opinion.

mid 80's is when SO changed logo styles,
if i recall the drawers are NLA from SO.

i really never liked that top box with the narrow stack of drawers as "working boxes"

i have 2 sets of them in the garage, kr537a on a kr300e and a newer style kr637/657.
