Another OSB vs. Drywall--with insulation

I had a friend who was a big hunter. When he finished his basement he finished all the walls in plywood and then covered that in drywall.

He wanted to be able to hang a mount anywhere and have the look of drywall.

OSB looks cheap and unfinished. Always.

If I bought something that had a garage finished in drywall I would probably cover at least the bottom 4' with OSB or plywood. I can't understand the love for drywall.
