Another Peculiar Tool

Ok guys and girls, here's another strange tool. What is it and what is it used for? I know because I have used it in the very distant past. I don't think any car of today would use it but many years ago they did. The markings on the side are ETW No. 150.

Boy I'll tell you if I had any more brains I would be dangerous. Here are the pictures!!

Well I dont know... if youy say its been a long time I probably wasnt around yet. I dont think its a brake tool, the tools for removing the hold down springs are usually round with some sort of taper on the inside to fit different size springs. I could be wrong though

None of you are close. But I'll let you keep guessing. I'll tell you what it is tomorrow night.

Some good guesses. Just to let you know. The tool is about 4 1/4" long, and the nut driver is a 5/16". Keep guessing!!

Looks kind of like a can wrench (phone mans tool for opening up pedistols). A stubby one.

It's an ignition wrench for Chevy 6-cylinders ...1962 and earlier.

The hex side fits the primary wires on the coil...the other side is used to fasten a special nut with two notches that loosens the contact points from the outside of the distributor....this is fact 'cuz I've got one somewhere...

Your right. Like I said, I haven't used it in years but I kept it as one of those tools you never know if you might use it again. My father had a '56 Chevy wagon with a 235-6 in it and we did our own tune-ups. He bought the tool because one of the local Chevy dealership mechanics told him that was what he needed. I think I've used it once since the early 60's.

Mine's from the early 60's...one of the first special tools I bought... the gas station I worked at had a lot of Chevy 6 customers...
