The handle on the side looks round and something about it doesn't quite look like Snap on....(dual locks on each section) ... I could be wrong....

#1. KRA series boxes in 40" have the narrow drawers on the left side, not the right.

#2. The lid on the top chest is wrong. A KRA has a lip that hangs down to cover the top till.

#3. Handles on the top chest are wrong. I don't recall my last 40" KRA top having handles.

#4. The Logo's usually go on the drawers on the newer ones. Wrong location on this box anyway. Should be all the way to the right.

#5. 40" KRA top chest is the same exact depth as the bottom(which you'll note is sitting at an angle in the photo so you can't see the side very well......I suspect Craftsman).

Junk. Skip it.

I thought it might be Craftsman (Waterloo) also but they don't use dual locks.... Kennedy does on some, but I have not found a Kennedy box that looks the same...

I am now checking out Westward....

Looks kinda similar to my old Husky.Can't see it in the pic but I'm pretty sure the lid looked to have the same bracing.

Caper, love your avatar and your Gray side box. Believe I've commented on both before. I always have a second look at that Canadian flag.

Yes, that box just doesn't look right (the yellow one)

Yeah that side locker for prybar storage is a nice option.Keeps those long bars from cluttering up a drawer.I keep my single jack in there as well.

Well the seller has given a rather quick reply on the bottom of the ad....

I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF EMAILS TELLING ME THEY DO NOT THINK THIS IS A SNAP ON BOX. I BOUGHT THIS BOX AS A SNAP ON USED AS I STATED BUT DO NOT WANT TO MISLEAD ANYONE SO PLEASE DO NOT BID IF NOT INTERESTED BECAUSE IT IS A BEAUTIFUL BOX AND YOU CANNOT EVEN BUY ANY BOX LIKE THIS FOR THE RESERVE I HAVE SET.. THANKS

Bullsh/t. He knows it's not a Snap On so he's playing dumb and acting like he didn't. I could find a much better box than the $810 currently bid on it.

90% positive feedback...that ain't good! :wtf:

I checked Homak, close but not it.... I checked International, close but not it, not a Torin... Kinda a mix between a Homak and International.....

I wonder if Chumley from Pawn Stars would be fooled by this....

Not sure about the Matco (I've seen a similar lower box), but how are you sure it's not a Kennedy, they use that color and they uses double locks and currently make a similar box (looking at the catalog right now).

Maybe a Menards' box repainted? The double locks should narrow the field.

Maybe the secret lies in those small stickers on the bottom right corner of each box. Another brand that comes to mind is Beach, not sure what their boxes look like though.

I think that looks identical to an old Craftsman box I had a while back. I'm pretty sure I remember it having the dual locks, round handle, all the details I see here. It had lots of drawers but slides were not that great. FAR from Snap-On quality. I believe the box has holes where the Craftsman emblems were directly under the Snap-On logos.

You remember that one too? Truth be known I was the one that sent him all the messages telling him no way SO will warranty them....his responses were rude as hell. I was actually being tactful.

I think Chadster also set him straight.

I'm pretty sure that's an older Craftsman box,a guy I used to work with had a Craftsman set up that was virtually identical. If anybody knows anybody that might go look it,alot of the older large Craftsman units had "mfg. by waterloo industries,waterloo iowa" or some thing like that stamped into sheet metal at the bottom of the recess on the right side. It's hard a heck to see with paint on it,unless you know exactly where to look. I had an old 42" Craftsman several years back,never knew that stamp was there until I sanded it down to paint. After that,I noticed it on quite a few of the larger Craftsman units. Not that I expect anyone to waste time going to look at it,because it's clearly a fraud.

You can report these listings to ebay as trademark infringement.

If enough users report, they sometimes take notice.

Buy the box then claim it's counterfeit. Ebay will refund your money and tell you to destroy the item. (that's the new policy with counterfeit items)

Hmm, just noticed the location and something clicked. A while back there was a guy from this area listing all sorts of tools + stuff on local CL. He had a Cranberry colored SO bottom box that he kept listing for like $5000 and it kept getting flagged.

He also kept listing that he had a bunch of SO, Mac, Matco tools but never posted any details, so those kept getting flagged.

The reason I remember it is because each time it got flagged, he'd repost it with a slightly different location- one of his favorites was Snow Camp NC.


Wonder if it's the same guy....................... ;)


EDIT: now the ***** has it listed with FREE SHIPPING. Someone ought to bid on it and then tell him he has to ship it to them free.....that ought to piss him off.

When I saw the ad, there was an additional picture that shows the side of the lower box and it's recessed like Craftsman/Waterloo boxes (the handle on the right bottom box does look like my old Craftsman Professional box, very different from the newer pro boxes), maybe that eliminates Kennedy, not sure. Beach has recessed sides but are/were usually more rounded.

That's what I'm thinking, I wish the other picture of the side was still available, he changed it, probably on purpose after someone recognized it. Here the other picture he has up now, you can see the handle a little better.
