Another Pliers Storage Idea

Not to step on the toes of any of the fine craftsmen here who build & sell the fantastic wire form pliers / wrench organizers, but I noticed another nice DIY idea over on the Workshop blog from Lifehacker:

Uses a piece of wire shelving, a few simple bends, cut to size to fit the tool drawer, and there you go:

I was planning on going the route of taking one of the dish racks and cutting it down, but with all the wire shelving scraps that I have, I might be able to just go ahead and do this straight up for my pliers drawer.

I used wire shelving for mine. The only issue I found was if you bend the wire too far the plastic coating can split.

Reviving and old thread because it helped me today. I've needed to do something about my plier drawer rather than just throwing things in. A Google search found this - of course it was GJ. I have cutoffs from shelving laying around and they were the right size so perfect. Rather than putting a bow toward the bottom though I bent the end down 90 degrees to add more space underneath for the handles and it seems to be doing the trick. I doubt the OP is still around but if so - thanks man.

I used an old wire cd rack from a yard sale. Think I paid 25 or 50 cents for it

Ive come to the conclusion that I need to triple my storage capacity to organize the way some of you do. Pliers drawer filled to the max.Vise grips,a hand carry CMan tool box full.

Im with ya. There is no room in my two pliers drawers for a bunch of wire for crying out loud.
