Hello all, wish you all a Merry Christmas.

I would like to thank all the folks that posted their experience and also continue to provide support here. After seeing all the great tile installs, we had been wanting tile in our garage and kept looking for the perfect tile. As most of you know it never exist, we settled on this tile from Lowes. This is not as cheap as some of your folks clearance tile, but got it at a great discount so going with it.

There were several hairline cracks mainly in two areas towards the back and not much oil stain. So soaked the floor overnight with degreaser and the following day scrubbed the surface and let it dry for couple of days.

Treated the cracks with red guard, but might have gone little overboard with the coverage. So far, have filled the cracks and applied one coat. Do I need another coat?

Here are some samples of the tile

Initially thought I can handle this myself, but considering the size and my expert level and the things going on in our life right now, have decided to hire an installer.

Supplies for the project:
  • Lowes Ivetta White Tile, PEI 5, thrubody, and mainly the slatelike, non-slippery surface passed the wife approval. The tile has lot of variation, so little nervous regarding how busy this will turn out.
  • Reno Ramp
  • MAPEI Porcelain Thinset Mortar
  • Ultracolor Plus Silver Grout
  • Redguard for the cracks

Looks good! That tile should hide a lot of dirt. What's the story on the double water heaters? Never seen that before.

It will hide dirt, but the surface has lot of natural grooves, so worried if it might lodge dirt and make it a cleaning nightmare. The water heaters were probably designed for the floor plan and the number of baths, etc.. Remember we are in Texas....

Looks great! I believe Red Gard states one coat for floors, two if water proofing.
As for holding dirt, it's a garage , so an advantage is you can go crazy with the garden hose
Gerry

EDIT Asked the wife, she said I did two thin coats of red gard on cracks

Thanks Gerry, I did the second coat last night. After filling and doing the first coat, I could not tell where the cracks where and the second coat dried way too fast than the first.
