Went by the local stereo shop on the 21st to pick up material to cover some speaker enclosures for the hutch I'm building for the HF 56".

I got material, but also came back with...

:shocking:

Two projects will come from these. One for the garage and one for the new stereo shop that will require some research of Federal regulations. :wtf: The owner said "I've got a perfect project for you" and gave me these speakers to use for the build.

For the past few days I've been hashing out ideas while family was in town. Went by the shop again yesterday and helped them move all of the 8 and 12 foot sheets of MDF and picked up this lonely guy. I really need to get one of these.

Today I got to work. Here's the first bit of progress.

I don't think the mail carrier would be happy if it didn't meet regulations. :lol_hitti

A couple of pictures.

Thanks, man.

Started work on the post.

3" ABS. Same stuff they use for port tubes.

Welded some 16ga sheet to some 3/4" black pipe and cut it to fit inside the voice coil of the 12" SPL Show.

Put the 3/4" pipe through the 3/4" ply end caps I made for the post.

Then tapped on another sheet of 16ga plate and welded it to the pipe.

Empty mailbox is sitting on the completed post. The 12" SPL Show, post, and plate are all one unit. This is the portion of the post that will be seen.

Thanks.

More progress this afternoon.

Got the rear speaker mounted.

...and the mail carrier's view. I'll need to re-spray the interior of the box. Damn magnet wreaked havoc when I tried moving the speaker through the box.

There are pics of the bikes in my thread in the garage gallery forum.

Thanks, that clock is really simple to make. Just get a simple clock kit from Hobby Lobby or any other craft store, get an old brake rotor from a mountain bike (or motorcycle) and make a plate to bolt the two together. Cheap and easy to make.

Had some people ask about the stereo shop.

It's 7,800 square feet, two floors, four install bays - big enough to fit tour buses.

Spent the day there helping get things prepped for the Grand Opening.

Here's the wood shop. We went to Nashville yesterday, picked up the SawStop table saw, built it, finished the out-feed table, and **** like that.

Router table. Four JessEm router lifts with Porter Cable routers. Cabinets will go above the table.

It's NICE working in there.

Shop owner said he planned on hiring me until he found out I was moving to Hawaii. :(

*kicks dirt
