Another question for you Wilton vise gurus

I thought the pre-stamp Wilton No. 6 I came across this summer had some aftermarket swivel lock bolts & nuts as they were not the typical swivel lock nuts with the handles. I was recently in conversation with an old timer who thinks that these might actually be the original hardware that came with this vise, suggesting that the swivel lock handle nuts came post WWII.

I see lots of pictures of pre-stamp vises without the handle nuts, but I couldn't find a reference that suggested this wasn't a user replacement.

The nuts are single faced (only have a chamfer on one side). The bolts look like lag bolts that have been roughly ground down.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

Also, under the end cap of the same vise, I found a sheet metal ring. Not sure what it's purpose was?

Not lags, carriage bolts. I too think some early Wiltons used plain or acorn nuts for the locks, had a couple like that. Added handles from Kevin to one, just cause I could.

My early Wilton bullet has acorn nuts vs. the swivel locks. It also has jaw inserts with horizontal ribs. I believe it's all original.

(similar vintage, but not my vise)
