Another Remline Resto

So I'm attempting to resto mod a Rem Line tool box I found on the side of the road. This is where I'm at so far. Still not sure on the final colors yet.

Well progress has been slower than I would like but that happens. I did some painting and was not happy with the way it finished so I banged out some dents and started over. Now I have the drawers stripped and the outer portion coated in hammerite black. Hopefully get the drawers painted today. Does anyone have suggestions about what to grease the tracks with?

Box is looking great so far, keep up the good work. Liking the hammerite black, as well as the bedliner on top. What brand of bedliner spray did you use, and what color are the drawers going to be?

As for lubing, when I got my free Remline (someone was moving it outside their garage for junk collection-- what is with people, dumping these??) I removed the slides and cleaned the rails and channels with WD-40 and some fine steel wool. The drawers glide smooth as cream now. My box is the same as yours, about the same condition. I need to get that bottom hutch lid to open and close smoother then I can repaint.

Curious why you didn't remove the handles for that restoration??

Were you able to tape over / save the Remline logo on box??
