Another rookie mistake. Subpanel cover

For my shop, I purchased a GE subpanel like the one in the pic below. I did not realize that the cover was the same outside dimensions as the box so when I cut my wall sheathing around the panel, I have nothing to cover the gaps around the box. Is there any type of trim ring I could use?

Easiest would be to run some corner bead around box and then compound around it.

you need a flush mount cover instead of a surface mount cover.

Yup, the right trim makes the difference.

double check....but there is a good chance you can get a new cover.

I can not find just the cover but I can get a new flush mount box/cover from Home depot for 28 bucks.
