So I happened to be browsing craigslist while I was in Florida last month. I came across a New Holland skid steer for a super low price. I almost thought it was a scam. So I called the guy and he said to come and take a look at it. Sure enough, it was a pretty decent skid steer. The guy had gotten from loaning a guy money and took the skid steer as collateral.... Anyhow, so after I thought about it for a day and checked around with all the dealers and online prices, I offered the guy a lower price and we ended up meeting in the middle. I was also checking freight prices since I had to get the beast back to PA. So we took a company truck and trailer and went over there and loaded it up. Then I brought it back to the local shop and it sat there for a day while I arranged for a truck. Called a couple of our vendors, and they hooked me up with their trucking company. the trucking company was able to give me a great price!! whew...
then when the truck showed up, it was a little tight to pull into the shop lot and we didn't have a dedicated loading dock. So I back the company flat bed truck up to a concrete embankment and drive the skid steer onto the flat bed. Then I drive the flat bed over to the semi trailer and back up to it. After backing the skid steer onto the trailer we were all set to go. The trucker asks who will be receiving it--I said--that will be me after I fly home.
