I say re-do because I had to replace almost everything on this vise. Well, I didn't absolutely HAVE TO, but I wanted to.
Bought it off craigslist and thought it looked like a red snap-on in the ad. Turned out it was more orange, but from what I can tell only the base was repainted at some point and I saw no evidence of wilton green. I can only conclude that it spent its whole life outside in the weather.

They welded the nut to the collar, so I had to get new pieces there. Got jaws and swivel clamps from Kevin at wiltonviseparts.net. Let me tell you something about Kevin's products--THEY ARE INCREDIBLE! Everything is made on manual machines and the fit and finish was absolutely perfect on all the parts I ordered. He literally shipped my order 30 mins after I submitted it. Do not hesitate to by parts from him!!

Thanks for reading...

Chris

Very nice!

How did you get the smooth vise jaws?
Thank you!!

Got them from Kevin at wiltonviseparts.net. he offers them in smooth tool steel, serrated, or smooth aluminum.

Here's his serrated jaws.

Nice restoration work!

Did you replace the pipe jaws also? They look perfect.

Kevin's replacement parts are so excellent they're superior to oem! How often do you find that?
