I want to epoxy my garage floor, the only problem is that I do some welding on the floor and I would just burn it up. I was thinking I could just stain it. That way I can just re stain it when it gets bad.

I'd like to do black.

Thoughts?
Suggestions?

Stains and Coatings are TWO different animals.

First of all 99.9% of coatings are in ADDITION to the thickness of the existing material.

Stains are just the opposite. 99% of the product is absorbed into the pores of the concrete. That is why with a stain they stand up well to traffic and wear, the traffic wears off "colored" concrete. The depth of the color depends on several factors. Mainly the viscosity of the stain and the porosity of the concrete.

Both require a "prep" stage

BOTH will NOT perform if an existing coating is present and is not removed.

Our stain holds its color MUCH better than an acid stain.

For less than $50 you can (clear) seal 400-500 SF
Add $5 for a colored Stain Version (same coverage)
