Another storage & workbench source

I picked up a flyer recently at a parts store for the "perfect garage workspace solution" from Hot Rod Garage by Sauder. Pretty good looking stuff, but a little too pricey for my needs. Maybe my friend at O'Reilly Auto Parts can get me some sort of discount - like, say, 50% or more.

I haven't seen that product before. Do they stock it at O'Reilly's, or at least have a display of it?

Dave, I don't know if O'Reilly's stocks the items. Truthfully when I picked up the flyer, I didn't notice it there was a display model on the floor.

I just tried calling my friend, Steve, who works there & he wasn't home - I'll try again later. (He owns a '69 GTS 'vert & '69 B'cuda notchback, btw.) It looks like O'Reilly's is currently the sole distributor. May I suggest that you call your local O'Reilly's and ask about them.

If Steve can get me a decent discount, I might consider picking up the Door Cabinet &/or the Drawer Cabinet.

Those are home built, 2x4 and MDF. The picture is decieving, upclose you can definitely tell they're a DIY. I painted them with Rustoleum Industrial Enamal. For the cost I think I could have covered the same wall space with the Gladiator series, but these are deeper and extreemely overbuilt. There's two bicycles and a hot water heater inside the two, large double door areas.

On second thought, if I add up the man hours I probably could have installed Lista's

My Grandfather's name is John Henry, and I now own his 1948 Ford F-3. My plan is to restore it to as close to original as possible with a few hot rod mods to the 239 and a Vintage Air system (Arizona). I use the screen name in his honor.

High Quality Storage Products

I'm always looking to add great products to my garage projects. There are some fine cabinets available in the marketplace but delivery time and freight damage have been a problem.

i wonder if those are steel, or just particleboard with a really expensive paint job? i know the rolling toolchest thing has metal sides, but the standing cabinets look like pb.

that sauder stuff is mdf junk, with shiny paint finish . it will fall apartand look like **** real fast. esp in humid areas. so far , the best ive seen for the money ,is gladiator .

All that manufactured stuff looks real cool, however, I make my own benches out of scrap 2x4 and 4x4 stock. I do not use particle board for anything. Being the scrounger that I am, I have picked up many complete hardwood kichen wall cabinets from neighbors remodeling, also at flea markets etc. I have also picked up base cabinets for benches from the same resources. The great thing is, I can load these things to the gills with no problem. The most I have ever had to do to put old kitchen cabinets to use is perhaps add a little reinforcment in a strategic area or two and give the cabinet a fresh coat of paint. I find they hold a ton, look great, and best of all, cost little to nothing leaving me more money for the important stuff, MORE TOOLS!!!
