Looks like Craftsman and SK only sell a 10" bar.

Any suggestions for anything longer, keeping in mind that I can't/don't/won't want to buy an expensive tool truck brand unless it's one of the few tools that isn't horribly unreasonable?

(By "not horribly unreasonable" - if a store-brand of Tool X costs $25, and the truck costs $40-$45, not horribly unreasonable. If a store brand of Tool X costs $60, and the truck brand costs $120+, unreasonable.)

Just curious what's out there. I saw a chrometacular Stanley breaker at Wal-Mart, it was long (18"?), but I don't remember if that was 3/8" or 1/2".

Most tool truck brand breaker bars on ebay only go for $15 to $40. There are some really good buys on some of them. I think breakers bars get over looked a lot. I have got some older Armstrong, SK, Craftsman, Proto and Plomb bars at yard sales and flea markets for $1 - $5.

I love my long SO 3/8 breaker bar it was purchased many years ago and was all that was available at the time. If i had to do it again I would , and may soon as I do not like swapping tools from my travel box.

Proto makes a longer 3/8" drive breaker bar or at least they used to. MSC Industrial Supply can ship it to ya.

Thank's for the ideas!

HF is out. Not because it's Harbor Freight or Chiwanese, but I don't want to be the guinea pig for that particular tool.

Not ready to drop any money on Toptul stuff right now. I've read your folks reviews, and I'm sure it's quality stuff, something about it just bugs me (part of it being the whole "tul" "tool" name bit. Sue me, I'm a **** like that.).

Snap-On has an F12LA 12" 3/8" breaker, but there's no price online.

I'm digging up a price on the Proto. Dad gets a discount via the farm and Grainger, so I'm seeing what he can do for me there.

Lowe's/Kobalt shows one for $13.26, but doesn't specify length - I'd imagine it's probably 10", like most of the rest of the stuffs. :(

I got a Mac 3/8 breaker bar off ebay pretty cheap I want to say it is about 12 inches long. It has loosened any bolt I have needed it too so far. If it is that big of a bolt I will probably be using a 1/2 breaker bar anyway
