Looking to identify the manufacturer of this socket I found in an old tool box. Markings include the size and two other markings I can make out.
-D- and |- Do these look familiar to anyone?

Spied some sockets online with -DURO- stamped. The -D- would make sense perhaps for earlier versons. Was able to find some vesrsion online that were war-time units that would fit into my grandfather's time frame as he worked in the navy yard. The
-D- I- marking appeas to be for Duro-Indestro. The examples online have a 12xx part number before the -D-. I do not see that on the sockets I have.

Here is a shot of tem after a evaporust bath. I'll probably part with these as they are not marked by my grandfather and I do not collect -D- (Duro) units. Any idea on the value of these?

Also, wondering if the 2 size 5/16" sockets are from same set. One is just slightly taller than the other.

The 1200-series part numbers were Indestro's numbering sequence for their 1/2" square drive SAE sockets.
Both the 1935 and the 1937 Indestro catalogs show their 1/2" square drive sockets as having part numbers beginning with an "X" prefix, but I've never seen an Indestro socket with an "X" stamped on it, so I'm not sure what that's about. (It apparently carried through until at least 1941, as shown in the documents below.)

SOME older (black finish AND plated) "D I" sockets do not have part numbers stamped on them.
While I am not completely familiar with Duro-Chrome's part numbering system, I'm sure that Don will concur with me that the same thing occurs with Duro-Chrome branded sockets.

^ only "value" is to a collector who is wanting to complete a set of those. they don't have a great monetary value. I have several plastic zip-lock bags full of those old Duro/Indestro sockets somewhere out in the garage.
