I've found a good deal on a
Blue point/snap on brake tool set
YA8610B but am wondering if this set is outdated and would be better off getting the astro 78618. It looks like the astro set has more options but I'm not sure would need them. I mainly work on Japanese/korean cars. Toyoto, Mazda, VW, and honda.

I would get the astro sets... at least it covers left hand ones... not that I have ever seen one... Not sure about the snapon blue point ones, I have been using the old HF set on honda/nissan/toyota/vw without any issues... really only the VW have the needed for the tool to rewand the piston back on rear brakes... and it's right hand thread... not sure which cars have the left handed ones... The time I really had to force and bend that tool... it was about the time needed to get the caliper rebuild with a new piston, it was bad..., wasn't the problem with the tool.... some one here explained this style caliper with parking brake to me once... way over my head to digest that.

The left hand stuff is new to me and i' not sure what takes it. Since I have three teenagers getting cars this year,
I feel like I need to stockpile some tools in order to keep cars running (before I get the insurance bill?)

On a side note, I was out of town and my wife's car had a brake pad go bad, I told her to just take it in since I was not returning for a week or so. It cost $400 just to do the front pads and rotors! A job I can do for about $100 myself.
