Another Tool Saves The Day

You guys remember that POS 4 piece HDX nailer set they had for $50 on Black Friday?

Well, I picked up one of the last available ones around my area when they were selling out.

Not something I needed, and so they sat around, getting moved from place to place.

Well, about a week ago I hung some junky cabinets in the kitchen, for additional space.

Filled it up, but over time it started coming apart and separating from the wall.

So I had to empty it and take it down.

Well, today I went out to the woodworking shed and retrieved the set. I hooked up my little Porter Cable pancake air compressor, outfitted a hose with fittings and fired things up.

Took the narrow crown stapler and fastened the bejesus out of that box.

Rehung it and filled it up.

Ain't coming down now!

Cabinets were HUNG with screws like that.

But the staples allowed me to put the parts of the cabinet back together, that were coming apart.

The back to the sides and top.

And I was mistaken. It was a 4 piece set. I need to get some more fasteners so I'm ready for using them for more things.

I use the hell out of my narrow crown stapler, I use it where ever the head won't be an eyesore instead of the brad or pin nailer, IIRC the narrow crown has 4 or 5 times the holding power of a similar length brad nail.

Hard to go wrong or doesn't take long to get 50$ back.

I misspoke. They were clearing out those kits for $40. (I couldn't NOT get it!)

The other kit that was so handy, for the cabinet install itself, was the $99 M12 impact/drill driver combo.

Drill holes and then drive the screws with the impact.

Just the right size, especially for putting the doors on.

Dang it, I do love having the right tools! I sure could have used an old corded drill and hand screwdriver, like I have for decades. And patched up the cabinet with hand hammered brads.

But this is so fun, that I want to do some more!

I also purchased a set of those, I sold the set to my Sister's son, I found a new/ used better set for about the same price.
I like my air tools so much..
