Another VCT Tile question....

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on flooring for my garage...I have done the epoxy thing with decent prep work a few times and it just didnt hold up to my expectations over the years so I am thinking about VCT. If I do VCT I will use the good spray glue (Tarkett) and hope for the best.
My main question, since some of the floor will be black and white checkerboard, is has anyone seen any of the darker (black) tiles lift when sun hits them as I would like to think I could keep my doors open during the summer.

If you are worried about lift I would not use anything but the spread on adhesive designed for VCT! It works well, and will not lift if done right.

Also, if you are looking for long term durability, you will need to clear epoxy the VCT. This is the only way to prevent major scraping and helps reduce lift.

I use a sealer, not epoxy, but am not worried about scrapes, and I don't weld in the garage.

A quality epoxy will protect the VCT and eliminate the need to wax, strip, wax, strip, wax etc.

We offer BondTite 1115, a 100% solids epoxy specifically formulated to adhere to, and protect, VCT.

I would rely on Jim on this one. He has nothing to gain by sending you in the right direction and he has the personal experience to back it up
