Looks like it maybe part of a tool. I have searched the web but with no luck.

what is the scale? it sure looks like a (broken) door drilling jig to me

About the height of the beverage bottle in the background is my guess lol my brother sent me the photos for me to figure it out. This one stumps me.

Does not look broken to me. He thought that as well a jig for cutting holes. I doubt that it is.

it surely resembles a door drilling jig , or something similar. drill a large boar ( for the knobset) and a smaller hole ( for the latch) 90 ° to the knobset , centered in the door

measure from the tang on that center pc to the center of the larger hole on the side or the center of that bushing & I bet it is 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" . older could be 2-1/2" or 2" too
the counterbore in the center pc with the tangs is probably 1" or 7/8"
