I'm usually pretty good at finding and identifying odd items but these 2 do have me stumped. The one says on it that it's a awl drill. The other if I had to guess might have something to do with making holes in canvass. The both came from a sale at a bayfront home with a dock out front.

Or ???

I believe the first one is used like a star drill. Not something I'd have any use for...

Second one looks a little like a diamond core drill bit for glass.

It's in pretty bad shape but it's a triple flute. I now realize there is a set of bits that insert into the holder which has a taper and place (don't know the name) where you can insert a screw driver and pop the bit out. It looks like it was intended to strike with a hammer.

oops, you said 2nd one.

it says rawl right on it...

look up rawl. they made handheld masonry drill stuff

I saw that but thought the letters were all run together (they are) and read it as 'awl'. Thanks, I think you got it and I'm going to assume the other is just another variety. In the same box I found 3 star drills so that must have been the theme.
