Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows what this is. It's like a breaker bar, then a piece that swivels after, hopefully the pics will show it well.

The only thing stamped on it is made in USA, and patent pending, there is not a patent number tho. It seems very well made and heavy, just under 3 pounds, and overall length is 16 and 7/8 of a inch. Without the swivel part it's 14''.

Don't be so sensitive, nobody said you're a bad guy. You asked us to ID some strange sounding tool with no pics, how are we supposed to do that? It was just a little good natured ball busting.
Adding pics isn't hard. Underneath the reply box is a "Manage Attachments" button, click on it, and add your pics, so easy a cave man could do it.

It's not a bother and like 454 said, just some good natured ribbing.

After you click manage attachments, click "Browse" to find your picture on your computer, then click the pic you wish to add (once), then click "Open." This will bring you back to the original manage attachments panel, showing the link to the picture you just attached. Click "Upload." Scroll to the bottom and click "Close this Window." This will close the attachments window and bring you back to your post. Click "Submit Reply."

How about this? Do you have a link to the pictures you're trying to post?

If so, just copy the web address of those pictures into a message.

Hotlinking an image requires the use of the IMG tags:

[ I M G]photo URL goes here[/ I M G]

You would want to delete the spaces between those letters, but if that's not working for you, like I said, just paste the URL.

No need to delete or get upset. Just some good natured fun. And as you have seen it comes with help also on how to post a picture. Once you post a picture I'm sure someone will have an answer for you quick.

It's all black, besides the chrome ball for the socket retension.
If you PM I will give you my email address. Email photos to me and I will post them for you for now until you get yourself spun up on posting photos here. Why? Because I am damn curious what kind of contraption you are talking about. It sounds like you may have TWO pieces stuck together because what I am visualizing is a flex head handle ("breaker bar" colloquially) with a universal joint and extension. Also, any Skynyrd (or J.J. Cale) fan deserves some help. :)

The OP just doesn't realize how much we love ''what is it'' threads. Posting a thread like this with no picture is like chumming the waters with blood, but no meat..lol

Yep. The buzz only builds up more when the pictures aren't there yet.

As for the issue of posting pics, my suggestion would be to use the Tapatalk app if you have a smart phone. It makes it much easier.

I'm sorry if I sounded all pissy guys. My Dad passed away a while ago and I'm out of state trying to take care of his estate. I've had nothing but bad luck since I've been here. I'm aggravated, frustrated, and sleep deprived.

My Dad was a heavy equipment mechanic and I found this in his tool box, I'm not sure if it a specialty tool, or some kind of gimmic that never took off.

I think it might be to adjust engine timing. Like to turn or hold a cam pulley or harmonic balancer maybe.

Don't ask.
Thanks for hanging in there and posting the pictures.
Looks like a breaker bar, then a piece that swivels after.

Hope you get a better answer.

I can't tell for sure from the pics....but, is the shaft on the main part that sticks out about the size of a 1/2" 6-point socket?

I'm not sure what you're saying ddawg, you mean the part that swivels, or the thickness of the handle. I can try to take a better pic if you tell me what part you want a pic of.

Sorry to hear about your dad.

I'm glad you got the pictures posted, I'm positive there's someone on this site that has the answer to what that tool does.

I know you mentioned you weren't very tech savvy, but you might want to go back to your first post and edit in those pictures. Just hit the edit button, then follow the same procedure you used to post the pictures here.

Thanks.. I didn't even think that the first post didn't show pics, I'm sure most didn't even get far enough to see the pics, I eventually figured out how to post. I know someone on here knows what it is.
