Veterinary tool. It's for holding a mouse still while you give it an enema.

Not a high school project, they were available commercially. We had one in the kitchen when I was a kid. Works great for walnuts.

All the ones I have are fresh, where do they sell antique nuts?

This is funny, as my wife and I were at a garage sale this past year, and there was a pile of smallish rocks with a sign that said "old rocks for sale." Wonder where the new rocks are?

Did your Dad do any Fly fishing? Looks like the bottom half of a vintage fly fishing vise. A small rod goes in the hole and the other end has a clip so you can tie your own flys.

I know what it is. Do you? I did not know how to remove the description. Oh Well, enjoy.
This tool came from our gas and service station in rural Alberta. The station shut on 1967. It had been open for fifty years.

The E-town swap meet has a no alcohol sales rule. Guys used to have a box of stones and a sign that read "buy a rock get a free beer".

That swap meet used to be good...

Too bad the household junk and NASCAR "collectibles" vendors ruined it. It's nothing more than a flea market now.

Vulcanizer. You put a patch on the tube, clamp it in, and pour gasoline in the cup. Light, wait until the gas burns out, and Bob's your uncle.
