Evening fellas,

I picked up this odd Stanley brand clamping thing at a little flea market a couple days ago for $5. I bought it because it was cheap and I'd never seen one before. I figured for the price it was worth getting just so I could ask you all what the heck it is?

Any thoughts?

I looked through a couple of old stanley catalogs I have and could not find it. Any model number on it?

I think that's it! Newest catalogs I have are 40s so I'm guessing it must have come later.

Well, it might work as a seriously strong cupholder to secure your beverage to the workbench.

When is that tool from??? If you don't mind me asking. My uncle was a cabinet maker and I am positive he had that whole setup in the late 60's... not sure when he got it.

The sad news: pretty sure, when he passed... the whole shop ended up in a dumpster.

Honestly, I haven't a clue, but I would think your guess of the '60s isn't too far off the mark.

That is why it is important to find a young fellow/gal that appreciates something to make sure they receive it. We are just the caretakers until we move along. Donate it, give it to the neighbour kid, sell it whatever. A friend of mine has an incredible model collection. He has already willed it to a local museum after his death. He has no one interested in his collection. :(
