Another "whatisit" thread

This jig?/clamp?/press? arrived on my workbench last night. The person who dropped it off has no idea what it is and neither do I. The decal says Scott-USA Sun Valley patent pending, but that might have been taken off a ski pole and applied to this. No other marks. Threaded adjuster with a peened over cup. Swappable lower pieces some ball, some socket.


any ideas?

Looks like it's for pressing bunion bumps into ski boots.

I would think those are largely obsolete with the newer (last thirty years) thermo-setting boot liners that conform perfectly to your foot.

Those were a real game-changer!
