There is an actual tool for that? And all these years I thought the knurling was for a finger grip. :eek:

Might be used on the old panel lamps (register readouts) on older computers, pre-led days. The rings were same as the serrated nuts on the toggle switches used to set/clear the lights. Gosh, really dating myself ehhhh.

I checked an old switch and Steevo was right! Bobf could be right too. The estate was a guy who worked at JPL back in the '70s.
