Another Wilton Vice Question

On my Wilton 646, is this stamping a serial number or date code? Although it looks like an obvious date, most date codes I’ve seen described was either a Julian date or just a month and year 3 letter code.

I'm leaning toward casting number/part number. Here's a similar part number for that series. It's longer by one digit, but similar.
