Have a kitchen designer switch, rocker type with slide on right side for dimming purposes. Rocker turns on and off overhead light (3 60w. bulbs) which are regular bulbs, just fine. Would like for the dimmer to work, it does not do anything! Opened up the unit which states it is a Luetron model for single pole operation, with two black leads comming out of unit, one is attached with wire nut to to a red lead, the other is attached with wire nut to three black wires, no green wire on unit, seems to have been snipped off. There is another rocker switch directly below this one with the same configuration which operates 3 can lights in the ceiling and the dimmer switch works just fine on that switch. There is one more switch directly behind on a hallway switch which only operates a single 60 w. bulb which has no dimmer at all, and works fine. Question: Do I need a different type of switch to make this dimmer work on the first item, or could this be accomplished re-routing wires?? Too many wires??
