Can't really see it on ny phone. But it sure looks like some variation of a masons joint tool.

How big is it. If it were way I suspected, it'd be about 12-16" long and 1/2" wide.

For disconnecting small or medium size fire hose. Up to 3 inch. The rectangle on the top is used to shut off gas valves in residential and some commercial applications. There are multiple different arrangements of this tool. Some even fold. I am 50 feet from a fire engine with at least 10 of those on it between personal gear and the engine itself.

I realize in parts of the world all wrenches are called spanners.

But we were taught in firefighting training the pictured tools were spanner wrenches.

Used to tighten/loosen hose couplers, the slotted end is used to turn off natural gas valves, flat end used for prying or to hold a door open, etc.

Looks like the Giller has a hammer surface and a pointed end for forcible entry.

Universal spanner. Most used today are foldable for easier carrying. Giller was part of Thorsen back in the 60s

Hit the nail on the head.
