It is well known that you can't claim your own 'You ****'. I'm not sure what good that vice will be with the crack in in anyway.

The Wilton Bullets are the same whether they're sold with or without the swivel. If you don't need it, just bolt her down (the kitchen table would be a great place).

If you decide to look for one, the swivel bases seem to be the same for a number of Wilton's. I had a 1745 and a 500S at the same time (One's 40 lbs, the other over 100) and the bases were identical.

We actually went to this guy's house to get a tab tacked onto a metal table leg since our electrical isn't 100% done yet, so we can't use our welder.. I walked in the garage and saw the vise on the floor and jokingly said Oh, there's our new vise!. He said oh, you guys are looking for one? blah blah, and we said yeah, if you wanna sell it, we'll buy it off ya. So he goes about welding up the tab on the leg, and on our way out the door he said Load it up!, so in the trunk it went!

Wow! Those were awesome workbenches. Were they for sale?
No, sorry they weren't, I would have liked one of those myself.

I'd start by checking with Nick ... our resident Wilton-master! He usually has some Wilton parts, or might be able to find you a base if your really wanna make it swivel. His handle here is "autopts" I think. Cheers, Bill

I'm sure you know the story. Ex Record Vise employee starts own company etc,etc,etc...

That's not correct. Paramo was given the rights to produce Record vices during the war effort.

Really odd....I just read what I considered a valid aticle on the subject of Record/Paramo vises. I was researching a Paramo I was considering purchasing and did an internet search. What I stated was what I thought valid. Can't even trust the internet anymore. What's the world coming to? hahaha! You may be correct..who knows. In the grand scheme of things, I guess it really doesn't matter.
