we have them in our produce department at my work. i like them and they arent too slick, but can still be slippery when wet. they are def much better than regular vct though, and fit my budget if i can find a place that wont rip me off on my small order(200sqft)

I priced the Armstrong version of that called "Safety Zone" and it runs $3.56/ sq ft. Armstrong has another tile with a little "grit" to it called "Stonetex" @ $1.56 sq/ft (comes in 12"x12" or 18"x18") but I imagine the grit would be covered by the epoxy. Stonetex has some really nice colors and is non-directional as opposed to Excelon.

Wow, I didn't think they cost so much compared to the base tiles that are 60 cents per 12x12. The stonex looks decent for the money, how grippy is it? I guess you could still epoxy seal.

I got some samples from Armstrong - kinda looks like black pepper sprinkled on - when you run your hand across it you feel some texture - but I'm quite certain the epoxy thickness would cover it - not sure about wax. The colors are great and are solid so they appear more like this decade rather than the 50's look of the Excelon - check out Armstrong's web site. I'd like to go this way but cost is more than double Excelon so having trouble justifying that for my garage - maybe if I could catch a 20% sale at Lowe's,but then you still have the epoxy expense on top - I simply would prefer to avoid the maintenance.
