I had my garage floor epoxied a couple of days ago. The floor looks good, but the anti slip is more prominent than I was expecting.

The epoxy is gp 3744.

The anti slip was broadcast after the flakes. I'm not sure what the anti slip product is. It looks like small spheres. They are imbedded in the epoxy but stick up proud.

It doesn't grab a cotton rag, but I was expecting the anti slip to be below the surface.

Is this normal?

If it's below the surface it wouldn't provide any anti-slip properties.

It's a little more prominent when you don't have clear coat.

Exactly. When mixed in with a clear coat during application it embeds better and is a little less noticeable.

Ok, thank you for the responses. I was debating adding a polyurethane top coat to smooth it out some, but that might eliminate the "anti slip" function.

I may also be outside the re-coat window. I wasn't sure how to interpret the data sheet. It wouldn't really be practical to try and scuff the floor with the anti slip material poking out.

It's not uncomfortable to walk on (even with bare feet), and it looks ok. I was just a little concerned with how well it will clean up with a broom or mop.
