Anti-vibration gloves recommendations

An interesting proposition. I've never thought about gloves for dampening vibration. I think most mechanics type gloves are designed with protection on the backside to protect from busted knuckles etc but are specifically thin on the palms to allow good dexterity and feel.

The more I think about it, the kind of vibration you're describing is going to be hard to dampen with gloves that don't render your hands completely useless. I know there have been efforts to reduce vibration on the tool side. Reciprocating saws have a frequency that's particularly annoying to me. For some reason my arms itch after using one for extended periods.

Interested to see where this thread goes.

I was the operations manager of a manufacturing plant and was heavily involved with the safety programs. We tried several different brands and styles of gloves for employees using; needle scalers, air hammers, grinders....
I will hunt down some of the glove information, but in the meantime, these look very similar to one of the gloves the guys liked.

Back in the late 80s early 90s I saw a few pairs on trades people, but non recently. I would give up some dexterity for good vibe reduction with my Sawzall or shredder.

I bought a pair of those same gloves a few months ago. They seem to help somewhat with my wrist and elbow issues that are exacerbated by vibration. They work well with the sawzall and orbital sander. I've used them with the chainsaw as well. However they seem fragile, so I only use them when I'm bucking a lot of firewood at once, and not when I'm having to move logs or rounds every cut.

I'd buy them again, but anybody considering these should be aware that they aren't an abrasion resistant work glove, and you do lose considerable dexterity.

Mine are rather old, the brand name is Decade and they have the code number for whatever agency sets parameters for anti vibration gloves. My only gripe is the padding is so thick it becomes uncomfortable to wear them for any great length of time. My hands and forearms would be tired and pumped in no more than 30 minutes trying to grip a tool, possibly less time than that.

These look decent. I will give them a look. I know nothing is perfect but I believe something decent will help.
