Antique floor jack ID help?

Hi guys. Found this site looking for info on an old time jack. Came up dry so far.

Pictures attached.

A friend got this from his grandfather along with a model T.

Casting (hard to read) ; "Midwest? Mfg Co. Minneapolis Minn"
Also: "pat 10 2 17"

Any help would be huge. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the garage journal. I hope you become a regular here. There is a wealth of good info and good folks as well.

I have a similar jack unit in my collection. They were used more for moving disabled vehicles around the garage or bodyshop

I think I found it... Product was called "Red devil car dolly" by mid-west mfg Co.
Found a couple of print ads on eBay. 8000 lb lifting capacity.

Also, I might be able to get the 1917 patent description.

Think it would be neat to frame these items, to display along with the jack, and my friends model T!?
