First off, hello all, I just found this board and registered tonight! Now to business. Can anyone refer me to any sort of guide that lists current values of antique Snap-On tools? I've recently acquired a large lot of tools that belonged to my brother-in-laws father. My brother-in-law passed away in June and I'm attempting to sell these tools to help my sister. In addition to the usual hand tools, there is a lot of oddball items. Most items are still in their original boxes and include any paperwork that they came with originally. Also, I believe I have a K-200 Super Roll Cab and a K-60 Super Chest based on some old catalog photos. Where would they be marked? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps a PM to chads or snapmom would be a place to start. i'd also suggest watching ebay to see what things sell for. we would also love to see some pics so we can OOH and AHH!

Look very closely on the back of the tool boxes...it should be etched in one of the corners the model number as well as the year it was manufactured.
As Krusty said, Chad S. is an authority of Snap On history.
Where are you located? And pics will help very much.

I wouldnt say authority by any means, just a dedicated beginner. The early boxes are not going to have a part number stamped in them, so you need to reference period catalogs for part numbers. I have send the OP a scan of the 1939 catalogs page for the combo he thinks he has.

Right now, anything with the black ergo plastic handle is damn near worth its weight in gold. Screwdrivers and ratchets, the black Tenite plastic ergo handle; some people refer to it as the Generation II handle.
I'll attempt to post some photos here, but it's hard to resize them for display here. If anyone can help identify or valuate these I can email better photos. This is a sample of what I've come across. I'd appreciate any help as to their values. Thanks.

hi new to this and am trying to find info out ? i was given an old snapon top chest and role cab ,from reading the conversations on here i believe i have a k60 super chest and k200 role cab all complete apart from a few small bits .
Can any1 tell me what coulours they did theses in as looks to be green and grey like a crinkle finish . i dont think it has crome handles on the draws but dose on the sides as they are corroded ? i know nothing about these apart from they way a tone and is better made than my new snapon tool chest lol.

WELCOME to the thew members!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I would like to see more detailed pictures. (NOT being a vulture here) There might be tools in that box that could answer some questions for some collectors. I know its a hard task, but a detailed list might help nail down the rarity of some of the tools. (Sizes, stampings, date codes)

K60's can sell for as much as $1500. Right now, with the economy, its hard to say. The value on something like this is going to vary a lot. It depends on who's looking at the time, how many interested parties are within driving distance, who is willing to pay to ship, There are just too many variables. Its not like putting a value on a ratchet.
Id say the top box could get anywhere between $500-1500.

Seriouly, values willl be tough to nail down, but do your research, here, ebay and any other place you can find. I'm in Baltimore MD, if you are within 150 miles, I love to see and perhaps buy. Note that the original post is from last year. I bought several items from jetfixer. The funny part is, he inherited the tools, they were in maryland, but he took them home to I think North Carolina.

The top box is worth more, but together they could go for maybe around $2000 when the market is at its peak. Right now the market is all over the place, some stuff is going really high, some very low.

I inherited a Snap On Roll-A-Way from my father in 2005. I think it was made in late 1940s or early 50s as I remember it from my childhood.
I wanted to restore it, looks simple to do, powder coating and such, but I have a bad case of arthritis and need to find a good home for this relic. I can't stand the thought of it going to someone at a garage-sale. I might try Ebay.

By the way, the old Snap-On roll-a-ways look more durable than the new stuff.
