Antique WISS A-12 TIN SNIPS

I had these given to me because they would not work right. I did at one point put a small plastic washer I made and would work for a while, but I know that there is more to these awesome tin snips. I've tried finding information about the pivot bolt with no real information. This is how I inherited it. The pivot bolt is 3/16"×1/2" long. The inside of the both shear blades have a conical opening of about 5/16", which one blade has threads. I think it is supposed to have a spring washer or a conical spacer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you, chuck

I have a couple of those and don't remember anything other than the bolt. I think all I have done is hand hone them and put back together. Tightness is important, not too loose not too tight.

I’m not familiar with the older Wiss snips, but spring washers were definitely common on some older Snip designs, and dome of the European made snips still use a spring washer.
