Antiques tools?

I was looking around my mom's garage and found a couple of things that caught my attention. Thought I'd post some pictures and tap into the extensive knowledge on here.

The first is a wooden 2' level. There are no markings on it what so ever. The wood needs to be cleaned up and one of the glass lenses is broken.
There's some rust on the bevels, too.
Take a look and see if you can identify these for me.

This is a box planer with a lid. It feels like aluminum and has a stamp on the bottom that says, "Made in Italy".
There's a screw in the back is to adjust the depth of the blade.

Could that box planer be for food - as in cheese?

The level is very old. I believe one could buy the vials separately and make their own level. Hence, no marks although very careful cleaning may reveal something on the bezels.

NO problem setting up your own level. All it takes is a plumb bob and some string. Plumb, level and 45* are all easy to mark out on a wall with only a string and a pencil.

It is an ice shaver. Probably from the 50s or 60s. Looks alot like this one:

Sure have, just never thought about how it got that way. Who 'da thunk? A box planer...errr....hand held ice scraper.

Wonder how that thing would work on frost covered car windows.

Here are a few more things I found while moving tools from the basement to the pole barn.

The first oil can belonged to my wife's uncle who lived in Huntington Station, NY. When he passed away, some years back, we were the only ones willing and able to take care of cleaning up the house and garage.

This one belonged to my grandfather and still has the same oil in it as the day I got it.

And these two tins belonged to the same uncle in NY.

And the bottom. It's kinda worn but lets you see some of the words.

For now, they'll be on display in my new work area. Along with the level and ice shaver. Adds a little nostalgia.

The typewriter ribbon box is pretty cool. I bet someone that collects old typewriters would love that. Old oil cans are always useful.
