AntiShorts for armored cable

I’m using some 12/2 and 12/3 armored cable I had lying around to finishing my lighting project.

The cable is a little thicker than the MC lite cable I was using.

I find the paper that wraps around the THHN conductors makes it difficult to slide a 5/16” antishort bushing snuggly into place.

I thought about buying 3/8” antishorts but wouldn’t they be even more difficult to slip into place?

I think the issue is the paper doesn’t cut away to create space for the antishort to slip into place.

Thanks

Some of the armored cable is twisted alot tighter then others, we usually just take our channel locks and untwist it a little to fit the anti short in.

Generally, you can untwist the wire a little into the armor and straighten the cables, then take your redeye / antishort and push it into itself to reduce the diameter which should allow it to slip into the armor.

Try installing the red hat before ripping the paper off.
