Picked up this anvil a few weeks ago. This is my first one so I know nothing about them. Can anyone identify the manufacturer. It appears to be in good shape. I got it in a bundle buy so it came in under $200. It has a 15 on front..

I dont recognize the maker mark, might try the Abana.org site.

Certainly looks like a decent one though

It is a cast anvil, which is about all I can tell from the picture. Several makers, including Fisher, produced anvils for others and I suspect that is the reason there is no makers mark. A profile picture and a picture of the bottom of the base might help with ID as would dimensions and weight.

I am not sure either but you might look into Southern Crescent anvils. A light logo in this picture from CL is similar to where your anvil has something on the side. If your anvil is 150# the possibility increases that it could be a Southern Crescent. My best guess. Ed.

I think Ed is right, a number 15 Southern Crescent would weigh about 150 pounds and be about 22 5/8 long overall with a 14 1/2 by 4 Inch face. They are on a par with Vulcan anvils. At $200 you did well, just a bit more than the mythical $1 a pound anvil. The edges look pretty good.
