Hey all, I'm completely rewiring my work area (carport against house) from scratch, looking for helpful advice on running outlet boxes, conduit, etc...
I want it neat (its not now), accessable, and professional. Basically doing 2 walls and a couple of small overhead lights.

I'm savvy electrically, just unsure on the conduit stuff. THANKS!

Bumped for interest. I am putting up some new lights and installing outlets under my "workbench".

Another bump. I have to run more circuits in my garage and its finished. So Im thinking I have to do surface conduit.

Was going to put two 4 gangers on the long wall, 1 4 ganger on the short and some well placed outlets on the ceiling for some more lights...
(20x20 with 4 ft. alcove on long wall)

Yeah, even simple stuff, just want to make sure I do it right. I assume I should have my conduit wired, bent and cut first, then mount the boxes where they lie?

If you're wiring is under a carport, it needs to be weather resistant. So, that means sealed conduit joints as well as weather covers on the receptacle boxes. You didn't mention where you are located (I assume somewhere in the US) but depending on local codes the weather covers may need to be what is called 'weatherproof while in use'; they have a clear plastic cover that looks kind of like a butter dish with a notch on the bottom, so you can plug in a power cord and flip the cover back down.
