What would you suggest as the best way to piece this spoiler back together. I can panelbond a rebar Im assuming to the inside of the structure inside the tube thats already there to give it strength but then what?

Fiberglass wrap and leave the core empty?

Id like it to last.

Dont have much experience with custom work like this.

Dont know what kind of material that is that makes the outer skin but Im assuming some sort of gelcoat.

Dont have much experience with fiberglass either.

Not the answer to your question but that appears to be a Cuda your working on. I know its your car and all but are you sure you want to put that spoiler on it?

Just a personal opinion but I think it would look a lot better with no spoiler or a factory style go-wing on it.

All that being said it looks like a really nice car.

The only car that looks right with that type of spoiler is the factory installed 69-70 Boss 302 Mustang.

If it were mine, I would panel bond epoxy a bar in each end of it, then grind it down a little around the cut, say about two inches on either side, then I would do a few wraps of fiberglass cloth around it. After a couple layers of fiberglass resin and cloth, I would let it dry. Then I would look for an epoxy that would fill that void. After that would dry I would go with some more fiberglass cloth and resin, then sand smooth and bodywork it.

Its urethane foam, you can use poly resin on that, faster and cheaper.
More work than it would be worth to me.

I was thinking the cavity expanding foam, gets hard as rock but then reading the post below your I think Im gonna shizcan the thought and maybe buy the one offered thru NPD.

I'm glad I read through the comments. That spoiler would have been rough to fix and make last. Every one I've repaired I stress to the owner to use BOTH hands and ever so gently shut the trunk from then on out........ and I'm still not going to say it won't crack!!
