Ah, that's where I got confused. My thinking of a "Street Rod" is this...
"Street rod" means a motor vehicle that: (1) Was manufactured prior to 1949 or was manufactured to resemble a motor vehicle manufactured prior to 1949;"
When you said street rod I was thinking a Model A or '32 ford type car. :)

The C4 front suspension is 5 inches wider then your S10. (59 or so Corvette, 54.5 for your S10.) Without a complete redesign of the geometry (to narrow it up) a stock C4 suspension is to wide for your truck.

Seems like there are a lot of performance parts available for the s10. You probably don't need to reinvent everything

Pretty much what I am thinking. There is so much stuff out there for these trucks you can build a killer handling ride right off the shelf...

theres 3 versions
2WD
4WD non ZR2
4WD ZR2
rear end width is
54.5
59.5
63.125

on the 4WD and ZR2 front track width is slightly wider to keep the front and rear from staying in same track
