Any cheaper alternative to Amphenol Type 97 series?

I am trying to wire up a control and 97's are the old standby. But $48 a bulk head connector, $27 a hanging connector, and $10 a clamp AND I need 4 of them blows my price range out of the water.

Doesn't have to be metal. Amphenol makes a plastic looking version I think called ABA but they maybe more expensive.

What kind of control? Low voltage, digital or analog? Is the connector indoors or is it exposed to weather? Molex connectors are pretty common and relatively inexpensive but they aren't weatherproof.

Nah I didn't even think of the threaded M12 system (like on a prox switch.) I got my connector cost down to $78 from $340 dollars. Its all 24vdc control voltage.

How many pins per connector and what gauge wire?

Weidmuller is who we use primarily.

2 conductor 16 - 20 ga wire depending on the i/o device and 2 positions is all we use per connection.
