Anyone know of any current deals on gladiator cabinets or something comparible?

I need a bunch of them and am ready to pull the trigger.

I need about 15 wall cabinets, 5 base, and 3 of the tall locker-types.

Im not sold on gladiator, I just think those look nice and seem well made.

Any thoughts or ideas anyone, anyone, bueller?

*my garage progress thread will soon begin, Im stoked!

I went to Lowes and asked about them and the guy said they had a sale earlier but not for awhile again, he said. Each are about $178 ouch!

I then started looking at all the various types offered at the big box stores. I happened to go to Home Depot, the other day they had 25% off on all unfinished oak cabinets because of the change on the hinge style, the guy told me.

I bought eight of the 24x24 and a nice long counter top. The cabinets were about $60 bucks each. Lowes had the new hinge style otherwise the same for $120 each. I took them home and painted all a light shop gray. Will post photo later.

You might consider the Seville cabinets as one alternative. Gladiator are nice and if money were no object I'd have a garage full of them, but when it comes to value for your dollar I'm not so sure they are the best choice.

Check out the Ultra HD line from Seville: https://www.sevilleclassics.com/products.php?cid=53,59

You can buy some of them at Sam's Club. I've seen the bench, tall cabinet, and lower rolling cabinets and have been impressed with all of them. They are about 45-65% cheaper than the Gladiator yet still built strong enough to hold up to the average user.

Another option might be the Gladiator Cadet line of cabinets. They aren't built quite as nice as the full Gladiator line but they are still pretty nice. I was thinking about them quite a bit back when they were labeled as Stack-On brand, but once they licensed the cabinets to Gladiator I noticed the prices all jumped by about 20%. That is a lot to pay just for a different nameplate on the corner.

Yeah Ive actually bought the unfinsished stuff before from homedepot and lowes.

One other thing about the two stores cabinets is also the interior of the cabinets.

The Lowes cabinets have a finished inside. Its kinda like a laminate. Home depots insides are just the particle board.

Im just thinking metal might be better for me.

Like he said above, check out the Seville cabinets. I am the one that found out about the last Gladiator deal and ended up with about 13 of the cabinets, but I do have 2 Seville workbenches and they are very nice for the money!! Another thing to check out is K-Mart, it seems that they are getting rid of Craftsman, I picked up a black Craftsman wall cabinet a few weeks ago 1/2 off for $60.

The doors of the cabinets are actually stainless - so no painting on those. The sides are coated steel... not sure if it is paint or powder coat or something else but it has a little texture too it and it looks to be very strong.

Every time I go to Sam's Club I check them out - it is very tempting. They have the best deal out there on a bench - it runs around $200 - $215 which is well under half of the Gladiator price. The legs are very, very strong and the top is a solid maple "butcher block" style. Heck, even if I was to buy Gladiator cabinets I think I would still buy the Seville bench because I can't justify the price on the Gladiator version.

If you have a Sam's in your area I highly recommend checking these out in person. I think you would be very pleased... especially considering the price.
