Not looking for help per se, just looking to share experience. I had three z-wave smart switches that I installed many years ago, being controlled via Samsung Smartthings. Two of the switches died (I suspect due to a lightning event) so I replaced all three with Leviton wi-fi switches. (When I built my new shop, I went with Leviton because I didn’t want to have to buy another Samsung hub for that building.)
The new Leviton switches work with Apple Home, so I decided to add some additional automations to replace a motion sensor controlled light that I can’t seem to tune satisfactorily. What I found was that the Thread network using an Apple HomePod mini as a border router seemed to have very limited range. I think I’ve remedied that using a few Onvis smart plugs to extend the network, because it seems to be reliable now in two locations where the motion sensors stopped responding.
Like I said, my only question is what kind of experience have you had? (FWIW, I have spent time reading about others’ experiences on Reddit. I just think there’s a smarter crowd here on GJ.)
