They make a garage floor coating product that's used in the commerical industry. Has anyone else check out / used their product?

http://www.ironitecoatings.com/

According to their site:

The Ultimate Garage Floor Coating is a multi-coat system that uses polymer cross linking technology for superior bonding and strenghth. Unlike alot of products on the market today at home center stores, Ironite Coatings will keep your garage floor looking clean and protected from harsh chemicals such as: oil, gas and salt for many years. Properly installed this floor coating will not last a year or two years, but should last you a lifetime (Multi-Coat System). This durable coating is ideal for shop floors, basement floors, enclosed patio floors, aviation hanger floors, and many commercial/industrial floor applications. This system is designed for lifetime durability with proper installation and can be installed by the home owner (DIY) or installed by an authorized Dealer/Installer of Ironite Coatings products.

I was going to use their Ultra-Flex Epoxy with their TX gloss coat for my garage. I have a 32 x 40 detached and a 3 car attached. Cost for all materials including the color chips (3 color mix) was about $1,500.

Hello,

I have a friend in Napa Valley who did his garage floor a few years ago with Ironite Epoxy products... I just recently visited his home during the holidays and I was impressed with the floor... It still looks great.. I just recently purchased Ultra-Flex with the Dura Gloss Finish coat for my new home in Malibu..... It looks great and the product was very user friendly.. I have had nothing but compliments... I will be recommending this epoxy floor system for clients in the future.. Best of luck with your floor project..

Wow, creating a user so you can ask a question, and then creating another user so you can answer that question sure seems like a lot of work just for free advertising.

For me, you just wiped out any chance of me looking at the web site, recommending it anyone or anything else

Honestly ... the second one wasn't me. I haven't bought the product. I was hoping for some feedback. It's clear no one has used them. I phoned them, spoke w/ some named Brian. He mailed me a quote. I cut and pasted some info from their site.

Also ... garages are not my passion ... I'm into 240Zs and 1950s Jukes ... I just wanted some feedback on a product.

As far as customer service goes, top notch in the quote/ordering process. We're still 2 months out from the actual coating, but we're very excited. We're only doing 2/5th of the garage in epoxy, the rest in porcelain tiles. Epoxy area is ~2k sqrft.

Finally got moving again. Spent a LOT of time prepping the floor for the coating. Lots of pressure washing, acid washing, and pressure washing again. Got all the dirt gone....today we coated the floor. I used Ironite Eurathane Epoxy....you can check it out at this link: http://www.ironitecoatings.com/

Very easy to apply. One coat of primer which was the hardest part due to the prep of the concrete which made it porous and really **** up the primer coat. Followed by 2 coats of the epoxy itself. I like this stuff as it's water soluable for easy clean and has a long working life. Pics of the floor so far attached. It has a nice blue grey color which is their stock mix, thought I had toyed with having them mix a specialty color like Ford Diamond Blue but figured this will look good, is easy to get more of if needed, and will be easy to find bolts and misc. dropped stuff on. Next is 2 coats of Clearcoat epoxy and she'll be done. Then, once Jason finishes off my doors it's time to start moving junk out there!!

I'd also like to give a big thumbs up for Ironite service. Brian has always been quick to respond, and we're looking forward to do other areas of the garage.

We did some tests with the utility closet and a general storage closet, combined the closets are only about 300sf, basically just testing in these small areas so we can get a feel for the product. The other storage closet and daily driver spots will get 3 layers of coating and 2-3 layers of clearcoat (the rest of the facility is getting porcelain tile). We're also going to sand the floor down as smooth as possible to create a very smooth finish.

Product was very easy to apply, stuck well even in the cold weather (~50*F), and the standard lite grey is very universal. Brian also said in the future if more layers or color changes were wanted, the clearcoat can be sanded down and recoated for future repairs/changes.

Definitely would recommend them as a premiere floor coating!

Directions say ~40 is the min, since its water based, I would not go any lower.

We applied at ~50 and about 45 at night after it dried while it cured, no problems. We applied it with a paint roller, and it went on evenly, but not as thick as I would have hoped, you just need to do several layers if you want the extra protection.

:shocking:

Not to beat a dead horse or cause a controversy, but I am curious as to why you think this (for the advertising of the company I assume) or is there a way in the user profile to check if someone has created two accounts? Were you able to check and see if it were the same account?

Like I said, I don't really want to "stir it up" or anything, I just want to know if you can check ID through a user account.:headscrat
