Any feedback on Champion Lifts?

I decided to put a 4 post lift in my garage. This will be used for both storage of my toy and for the occasional mechanical work (oil changes for example).

I don't have an absolute budget, per se, but I'm still pretty value conscious. I did some research and found a few companies, ranging from "completehydraulic" which might be the cheapest to BendPak which seems like the gold standard (or one of them).

I read mixed reviews on how long these things take to finally ship and then the actually shipping/delivery part has sometimes been difficult to residential neighborhoods.

Luckily it seems like there is a company that sells and stocks lifts locally. Having it the same week is a nice bonus. The company is Champion Lifts. I found 1 or 2 reviews of their older versions, but not the "newer" models. So I'm having a hard time gauging if it's a quality lift or not.

I would be getting the FP8000XLT (click) probably. When comparing the dimensions/stats to a Bendpak (the 9k lift), other than the weight capacity (which is overkill for me anyways), it actually looks pretty favorable. They have a 9k lift as well( FP9K-DX-XLT) but the fit would be more inconvenient for my garage layout I think and I'm not sure I gain anything useful. The 8k lift is enough even for my truck. Just about the only difference is my truck would fit underneath it, but I don't think I would ever need to do that.

Any reviews or suggestions?

After some digging, it looks like it is a newlift company that is owned by the same owner of one that went out of business a decade or so ago because of a bankruptcy. (Superlifts). The bankruptcy caused alot of people to be left high and dry.

Man, that *****. I don't want to deal with someone shady, but the ease of someone local was very alluring.

Anyone have any inputs?

Superlift had a pretty product, I remember the owner with them at a Barrett Jackson Auction many years ago. Talked an awesome game but screwed lots of folks in the end.

When you say pretty product, did you mean pretty good product or literally pretty looking?

I won't be paying until I have the product since it's local....and the convenience factor is huge. That's why I'm trying to figure out if the product itself is atleast good.

Regardless I am still torn about supporting someone that screwed people. Although it does seem like it's because of a personal bankruptcy during the recession (which is not a valid excuse, but atleast a reason).

It was pretty in looks, lots polished or chrome pieces or maybe just for Barrett Jackson, that was in Palm Beach. My wife built homes at the time and owner was quick to share drawings of his house he was building.

I've used a 20 year old Champion 2 post a ton. It's a good lift, but not sure it has any bearing on a new lift.

All installed. I obviously can't speak for the long term reliability of the lift, but it looks great. Powder coated (not painted) black and everything is nice and shiny like a previous poster mentioned.

All the mechanical parts look beefy/sturdy and hard to imagine anything failing other than the hydraulic/electrical system.

The installer, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and overall a good guy. It was him and his adult daughter.

So we will see.

That lift is the exact same as direct lift and atlas. I have two direct lifts and they both work great. Rotary is the licensed manufacturer for direct lift.
